Liverpool manager Klopp wary of Brighton threat

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp knows his team faces a challenge this weekend.

The Reds take on Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League as they look to go top of the table.

With Arsenal and Manchester City playing each other, Klopp knows they need three points.

He told reporters: “We go for three points, that is clear. But we know how difficult it is against Brighton. Roberto is doing an incredible job there. It's a different game against Brighton.

“We have improved over the 18 months since we played them, the first game I think we were hte first opponent since Roberto arrived and had no idea what to expect. It was quite impressive how quick he got the team in his way. Since then it only got better.

“We need a really, really good atmosphere and understanding of the game as well. It's about having possession, we need to have more possession than in recent games against them. It's not a normal pressing game, it goes against our rhythm so we have to break their rhythm. It will be super interesting. I am really looking forward to it.

“This part of the season is where we have brought ourselves in a position to fight for everything. If you'd have told me last summer that we'd be here now alongside Man City and Arsenal I'd have signed the contract straight away. No more international duties so that means everyone can focus on club football."

He then added on why Brighton are so hard to play: “Give absolutely everything and ignore the mess (the media) try to create after every game. Just dig in and go.

“We have to give everything in every game. It's all tricky and everybody needs luck with injuries, we didn't have it until now but hopefully the boys are coming back.

“We have found a way to play. Before the games against City and United, in parts we played some of our best football of the season. We play on Sunday and that's enough time to recover (from international break)."
