Liverpool are keen on Werder Bremen striker Max Kruse.

According to Sport1 in Germany, the Reds are challenging Bayern Munich for the German's signature.

Kruse is now a free agent after letting his Bremen contract run down.

Jurgen Klopp is looking to bolster his attacking line after missing out on the Premier League title by one point.

Kruse, 31, scored 12 goals and provided 14 assists this past season.
