Liverpool have moved to trump Arsenal for Olympique Lyon midfielder Clement Grenier.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger confirmed his interest in Grenier on the weekend after posting scout Gilles Grimandi to watch him in action against Rennes.
L'Equipe says Liverpool have now stepped in with a bid for the €8 million-rated midfielder, along with big spending AS Monaco, this week.
