Liverpool legend Mark Lawrenson says Anthony Martial's threat is being blunted by Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal.
Lawrenson says Martial should play centrally.
"United play with two holding players and I think you only need one at most," Lawrenson said on BBC Radio 5 Live.
"And stick Martial down the middle - defenders hate pace, so play him up front with Rooney behind him, and you have a different-looking side instantly.
"The defence is firm but it's very safety-first in front of it."
