Liverpool legend Fowler urges Suarez and Man Utd's Evra to end feud

Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler has called on Luis Suarez and Manchester United's Patrice Evra to end their feud.

Suarez and Evra have been at war ever since the Liverpool striker was found guilty of racially abusing his rival at Anfield last season.

He was banned for eight games and refused to shake Evra's hand in the return fixture, sparking a massive war of words between the clubs.

Fowler insists that the bickering must stop and told the Daily Star: "I think each club respects what the other has achieved.

"There are still fans that hate each other, but there is also that mutual respect.

"Regardless of where people are in the world they will see this game. It will be televised everywhere. It would be nice for the world to see that, as much as the fans dislike each other, there can still be respect shown towards each other.

"It's a good chance for everyone involved with both clubs just to show everyone that football is not the be all and end all, that clubs really can respect each other. Admittedly they have a certain dislike for each other, but the respect has also always been there.

"Sadly there is always a minority that will chant obscenities. There are always a few idiots. But both clubs have suffered tragedies so to be chanting about those tragedies is sick.

"Football is not important, we are talking about people who have lost their lives. It's not nice. It's up to the clubs that, if anyone is seen doing this and caught, to ban both sets of fans for life. They should be named and shamed and banned.

"In this day of modern technology there are cameras everywhere and we can pinpoint these individuals."
