Liverpool legend Sir Kenny Dalglish says the Premier League has blundered cutting short their transfer window.
The majority of major European leagues are able make signings until the end of the month in contrast the Premier League, whose window closed last week.
Dalglish wrote for the Sunday Post: "With the big nations such as Spain, Italy and Germany all able to do business it does leave English clubs vulnerable to losing a player or two, and not being in a position to replace them.
"But (Premier League) clubs need to stay strong and not give in. They must not sell their best players at this stage."
