Liverpool legend Aldridge: Sturridge return changes everything

Liverpool legend John Aldridge feels Daniel Sturridge's return to fitness is key to a successful season.

Aldridge wrote in the Sunday World: "If Liverpool had a decent striker in their ranks at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night, they would have beaten Chelsea in the Capital One Cup semi-final - that must have been a huge point of frustration for manager Brendan Rodgers.

"Yet amid the disappointment all Liverpool fans felt following the cup exit, the good news is that the team that thrilled us all so much last season are starting to click back into gear, with the confidence that was so sadly lacking in the first half of the season slowly being restored.

"Daniel Sturridge's return from injury cannot come soon enough because, if goals can be added to the Liverpool team we have seen getting back to somewhere near their best in the last few weeks, then the final few months of this season could be full of excitement."
