Liverpool leave Lovren behind for La Manga training camp

Dejan Lovren has not travelled with the Liverpool squad for their warm-weather training camp in Spain.

The Croatian defender stayed at home to recover from a knee injury as his Reds teammates boarded a flight for La Manga.

Lovren has not played since January 31 and will stay back at Melwood to receive treatment on the problem area.

Veteran Lucas Leiva, who has been filling in for Lovren at centre-back, made the trip despite picking up a hamstring strain against Tottenham Hotspur on the weekend.

Other Liverpool players who did not join Jurgen Klopp and his squad for the five-day training camp were Danny Ings (knee), Adam Bogdan (knee), Ovie Ejaria (ankle) and Marko Grujic (hamstring).
