Liverpool launch bid for Trabzonspor goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir

Liverpool have launched a cash bid for Trabzonspor goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir, according to Turkish media sources.

Sabah says Liverpool have had a £20million bid for Cakir rejected by Trabzonspor as they face a wait until the summer to land their man.

The Reds have been scouting the 23-year-old for a number of months as they look to add a long-term No.2 to Alisson Becker with Adrian only under contract until the end of the season.

But a move before the January transfer deadline looks highly unlikely after Trabzonspor rejected the bid as they are determined to keep the young stopper for their Super Lig title bid.

However, they are said to be preparing for a massive summer sale and are braced for renewed interest in Cakir, by which point Liverpool are likely to step up their interest in a back-up to Alisson.
