Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet is sorry to see former club Sunderland struggling.
Mignolet now sees his old employers back in the doldrums, with just one point from the opening five games.
"You never want to see your ex-team at the bottom of the league," said Mignolet, Sunderland's Player of the Year last season.
"I know a lot of people there and not only in the dressing room. I know a lot of people who work there, a lot of supporters and obviously they deserve better.
"I am sure they will turn it around."
