Liverpool goalkeeper Adam Bogdan has spoken glowingly about his rapport with teammate Simon Mignolet.

Bogdan was the hero of the night in Liverpool's penalty shootout victory over Carlisle United Capital One Cup third round on Wednesday and the Hungarian is now gunning to become the first choice for the Reds ahead of Mignolet.

Despite the competition between the two players though, Bogdan has revealed that he shares a fantastic relationship with the Belgian international.

Bogdan said: "He is fantastic. He came into the dressing room before and after the game and wished me well; I do the same to him every week.

"We know how hard this position is and we have full respect for each other and help each other when we work every day, and also encourage each other as well."
