Liverpool are ready to upgrade manager Brendan Rodgers' contract.
The Mail on Sunday says Reds owner John W Henry is willing to improve the 41-year-old's £2m-a-year contract but can wait to sit down with Rodgers as he still has 15 months left on his current deal with the club holding a further 12-month option after that.
Rodgers took over from Kenny Dalglish in the summer of 2012 and his side go to Manchester United next Sunday as genuine contenders to win their first league title since 1989-90.
They last played in the Champions League in 2009.
