Liverpool hope Steven Gerrard can make their clash with Newcastle United.
The Daily Mail says Liverpool will give Gerrard every chance to prove his fitness for a return to action at Newcastle.
He tore a hamstring against France and felt the injury when he tried to start running again nine days ago.
He has since made good progress in training and there is an outside chance he will be on the bench on Saturday.
In his absence, Raul Meireles has come to the fore and impressed in Monday night's 3-0 victory over Aston Villa.
