Former Liverpool fullback Rob Jones is a big fan of Glen Johnson.

Jones says the England international is flourishing thanks to the style boss Brendan Rodgers has brought to Anfield.

"Glen Johnson has been outstanding this season," Jones told the Liverpool Echo. "He's a key player in the Liverpool side and I really enjoy watching him.

"Brendan likes his full-backs to get forward and that suits Glen perfectly. He has been very solid defensively and is so comfortable with the ball when he attacks.

"He has been at the club a few years but I think this is the best he has played.

"I know from experience that it's not easy as a right-back when you're asked to play on the left but it's no problem for Glen.

"Now he's back on the right with Jose Enrique on the left there's a good balance. Enrique has found some form and in the full-back positions we look very strong."
