Tamworth-based goalkeeper Deale Chamberlain has signed a three-year contract with Liverpool.

The 16 year-old joins Liverpool after being told he wasn't tall enough by Aston Villa!

Deale's father Mark told the Tamworth Herald: "I am delighted that my son has gone to a club with such a high stature like Liverpool.

"It's one step closer to his ambition of becoming the England number one.

"We had many offers from other big clubs.

"But we felt that Liverpool offered not only the best deal but also had the best facilities."

Kevin Keegan's Newcastle United and Sunderland were also interested in signing the young keeper.
