Liverpool greats Carragher, Souness just looking for an excuse - Chelsea's Terry

Chelsea captain John Terry has defended his club in the wake of their Champions League exit to Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday night.

?The Blues drew 2-2 at Stamford Bridge in a dramatic affair to go out on away goals after a 3-3 aggregate in the Round of 16.

?The return leg was littered with controversy which was sparked when Zlatan Ibrahimovic was questionably sent off for a tackle on Oscar with plenty of critics suggesting the Chelsea players attempted to have the Swede booked by their reactions.

?The incident drew plenty of criticism from Sky Sports pundits Jamie Carragher and Graeme Souness but Terry was quick to defend his beloved west London club against any words of negativity.

?"Coming from them? Yes (the comments are unfair)," said Terry in the London Evening Standard.

?"As a group it's difficult because it's there and you have to stick up for your team. The fans want to see that.

"It's the same with every side - you go through different spells and every side is as bad as everyone else. It's part of it, so maybe it's just an excuse they're looking for."???
