Graeme Souness is hoping something can happen to change the lack of sportsmanship in football.
Chelsea players appeared to react strongly to a tackle from Zlatan Ibrahimovic in Paris Saint-Germain's eventual triumph in the Champions League Round of 16 second leg on Wednesday night.
Swedish ace Ibrahimovic was shown a red card for a 31st-minute challenge on Oscar, to which the Blues players protested strongly for a sending off, which prompted the following comments from Liverpool great Souness.
"We had a great game of football going on there and it saddens me, and makes me angry at the same time, that gamesmanship is deciding these big games," he said on Sky Sports.
"It's not a sending off, it is Oscar's studs that are high. This has spoiled the game. It's not about the best team winning it any more.
"If that's what our game is coming to we need to sort it out and sort it out quickly."
