Former Liverpool star John Barnes has opened the door to a possible move to Australia.
The 50-year old Jamaican-born former England international is down under this week and suggested that the proposition of coaching in the A-League is something that interests him.
"I always am interested in coaching but it's difficult to get in,'' Barnes said when quizzed on the matter.
"It's even harder to stay in. I'm still involved talking about it, from a perspective of working in the media, but I'd consider going anywhere to coach.
"I have coached the Jamaica national team, I have coached in Dubai and if you love football you have to travel."
The Advertiser suggests that Barnes was set to meet with Perth Glory owner Tony Sage on Wednesday but an early flight to Adelaide prevented the encounter.
