Liverpool goalkeeper Karius move to Besiktas still on

Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius' move to Besiktas will soon happen.

The Liverpool Echo says the two clubs thrashed out a £9.5m deal on Monday so Karius was withdrawn from the Reds' squad for the clash at Crystal Palace.

Yet to the concern of Liverpool fans, three days on Karius has yet to put pen to paper and remains a Reds player.

But the reason behind the lack of action is nothing to do with money, the reason is slightly more unusual.

Karius' move the Turkish giants is being held up by national public holidays in Turkey.

This week is the 'Feast of Sacrifice' which is celebrated with a four-day public holiday in Turkey.

Nothing will happen until the important Islamic religious event comes to a conclusion.
