Liverpool fullback Andrew Robertson admits there's a lot of satisfaction to draw from victory over Manchester City.
The Reds were comfortable 3-1 victors against the champions on Sunday.
Robertson said, "Obviously last year they beat is to the league so to play a big game like this at home and get the win is important."
On the defining moment, he continued: "The first goal. We didn't start the best. I think they had two corners inside the first minute so it was always going to be an important factor. Fabinho hits an absolute worldie into the top corner and we could then go on. We defended everything they threw at us."
Robertson admits the result is decisive.
"Especially towards the end of last season Manchester City weren't dropping points. We tried to take everything game by game. It worked well for us last year and it's worked well for us this year. It's all about keeping it in perspective. We''ll see where we are after Christmas and the busy period coming up."
