The Reds beat an Indonesia XI 2-0 on Saturday, played out in a cauldron of noise and Kop anthems at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium.
"It didn't seem like a friendly - that's for sure - and it was fantastic," Johnson told LFC TV.
"As everybody knows, Liverpool have got some of the best fans in the world, all over the world. It was great to see and good to play in.
"It's the first time I've ever been to Indonesia and everyone has been very welcoming and polite. They were pleased to have us here and we have enjoyed our time."
