Liverpool fullback Andrea Dossena is excited by the prospect of a January move to Roma.
The interest from Roma has been welcomed by Federico Pastorello, Dossena's agent, who has hinted that his client may be willing to accept a pay cut if a move back to Italy is in the best interests of the defender. Dossena, 28, is desperate to get back into Marcello Lippi's national squad before next summer's World Cup finals in South Africa.
"Andrea played his 30th Liverpool game against Fiorentina," Pastorello said. "If from now until January we see he is no longer required by the club, then we will evaluate other scenarios. Roma? We are delighted Dossena is valued by a coach like Claudio Ranieri. We are not worried about the money, what's important is that he is physically well."
