Mario Balotelli is having a medical with AC Milan this morning.

According to Sky Sports, the Liverpool striker is believed to be undertaking the fitness examination in Italy ahead of a proposed season-long loan move back to the San Siro.

25-year-old Balotelli is out of favour at Anfield following a disappointing debut season with the Reds which yielded just four goals in all competitions following his £16million transfer from Milan last summer.

The former Inter Milan and Manchester City striker is now set to re-join the Serie A giants for the 2015/16 season but it is understood that there is no permanent sale clause in the deal.
