Liverpool chief Damien Comolli is in the market for a new defensive midfielder next month.

The Daily Mail says Liverpool are considering his Porto midfielder Fernando and Celtic's Beram Kayal for the midfield anchor role.

Fernando has been made available by Porto and has also been linked with Chelsea.
