Sotiris Kyrgiakos could be out for as long as four months after the Liverpool defender suffered knee ligament damage in action for Greece.
Reports say Kyrgiakos injured his cruciate ligament in Greece's 2-1 win over Luxembourg last night.
The 30-year-old central defender was forced off before half-time and looked in a bad way when he left the pitch.
Athens sources suggest he will miss four months of football, including Greece's play-off tie to reach the World Cup.
