Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has slammed Premier League chiefs for forcing them to play on Monday against West Ham United.

The scheduling WAS ridiculous, with Liverpool having to make the trek to Spain on land for Thursday's Europa League semi against Atletico Madrid.

Carra said: "Playing on Monday night was a joke.

"That was more of a thing than all the travelling we did. You hear all about the Premier League wanting English clubs to do well in Europe.

"Well, we've just played on Monday and Thursday.

"When Inter Milan are in the Champions League, they play on a Friday night - their league does everything to help them."
