Liverpool appear to have found the ideal way to move on from veteran forward Roberto Firmino.
The Brazilian striker is likely to leave the club in the summer.
Atletico Madrid are said to have interest in the marksman, with Liverpool ready to replace him with January signing Cody Gakpo.
Gakpo has himself admitted he prefers to play in a central position.
"Obviously I played a few games in the center and more like a false nine to be involved in the build-up, try and be involved in the build-up, and from there go forward," Liverpool's newest recruit told Sky Sports.
"It's another role than I'm used to, but it's good for me to improve the position and keep working."
