Liverpool reserves coach John McMahon can see more of his youngsters breaking into the first team.
Martin Kelly and Nathan Eccleston have both featured in recent weeks.
And with a large number of injuries affecting his squad, Rafa Benitez may yet call upon more novices in the coming weeks.
"The young lads can see that there is a chance of development for them," McMahon told Liverpoolfc.tv.
"The youngsters are doing okay, they're progressing quite nicely. They've got in through injuries, but it's up to them to take chances - that's what it's about.
"Sometimes a player gets one chance and takes it, sometimes they get five or six and don't. It's up to them to grasp it with both hands if they get a chance."
