Liverpool reserves coach Gary Ablett was full of praise for Emiliano Insua after their 3-0 Liverpool Senior Cup semifinal win over Southport.

"Emiliano was top class again in terms of his performance and attitude," Ablett told Liverpoolfc.tv.

"He got forward well and his use of the ball was very good. We are hoping he can push on again now and put pressure on Fabio Aurelio and Andrea Dossena.

"I was also pleased with Gary Mackay-Steven who did very well in his first game since pre-season.

"It was also nice to give David Amoo from the Academy another chance. He can be pleased with his effort and he will get more opportunities in the future."
