Liverpool chief Kenny Dalglish insists defeat at Tottenham on Sunday was a blip.

Before last night's win over Stoke City, Dalgish told LFC Weekly Magazine: "Losing the first game of the season is always going to provoke a backlash, because of the hype and build-up to the new season.

"But for me, there's nothing to worry about. We lost the corresponding fixture last year so we're no worse off. We didn't have the luck. Simple as that.

"When you have a hiccup like that then the players not there always become superstars."
