Liverpool are chasing AS Roma striker Fabio Borini.

The Sunday Express says Rodgers coached Borini, 21, when he was at Chelsea, where the player scored 12 goals in 12 games for the youth and reserve teams.

The striker is co-owned by Roma and Parma.
