Liverpool boss to remain patient following Sturridge return

Brendan Rodgers is not expecting miracles from Daniel Sturridge anytime soon.

The striker appeared for Liverpool on Sunday for the first time since April after undergoing hip surgery in the summer.

Sturridge started in the 1-1 draw with Norwich City at Anfield before coming off in the 63rd minute and Rodgers is now looking for him to continue working on his fitness in a bid to get back to his free-scoring ways.

"He is a way off full fitness. His presence and stature will give us something," said the manager.

"It is about building his fitness. There is no pressure on him to do that."
