Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is eyeing Manchester United's third place after victory at Southampton. Rodgers was delighted with their 2-0 win.
Rodgers, whose men were ten points behind United when they were beaten 3-0 at Old Trafford on December 14, said: "It was an outstanding result for us.
"To come here off the back of a tough European week and score two wonderful goals and not to concede was huge.
"The first period of the season was nothing like the level we have been at in my time at the club so we had to find a solution.
"We relish every game. We have got Manchester City and Manchester United to play at home and Arsenal away. For us it was a big step to go two points behind United."
