Jurgen Klopp says that Huddersfield Town is his favourite Yorkshire team despite James Milner constantly talking up Leeds United.

Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield and Leeds are both challenging for promotion into the Premier League this season and it will certainly be interesting to see if the two teams are able to earn a place in the English top flight.

Liverpool veteran Milner and manager Klopp have their own associations with the two clubs as the Englishman started off his career at Elland Road while the German's best friend David Wagner is the man in charge at Huddersfield.

Now Klopp has gone on to praise Leeds but has insisted that despite Milner talking up the Whites, he remains a fan of the Terriers due to his friendship with Wagner.

Klopp said: "Leeds are one of the 'great teams' of England I believe – big history, big support.

"I know this because James Milner always tells me, again and again and again.

"Millie [Milner] has told me great things about this club and this city – even when I do not ask him. He doesn't like the fact I support Huddersfield Town in the Championship because my best friend David Wagner.

"So I am sorry for this Millie – but I hope Huddersfield finish as the top Yorkshire team this season."
