Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is set to back Loris Karius as his first-choice goalkeeper.
The Daily Mail says he has been wrestling with decision of whether to stick with Simon Mignolet, who has played in every Premier League game since the start of the campaign, or go with Karius, who made his debut at Derby on Tuesday.
It was only late on Friday that Klopp made his selection and Mignolet was informed before training at the club's Melwood base that Karius, who cost Liverpool £5million when he arrived from Mainz in June, would be between the posts.
Karius missed the start of the season after breaking his hand and he needed two operations to rectify the issue; during his absence Mignolet did little wrong and he will have been left crestfallen by Klopp's decision.
