Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson is expected to raid the French transfer market in January.

Hodgson was in the stands for France's victory over Romania last week, sparking transfer speculation in Paris.

Among those players on show were St Etienne attacking midfielder Dimitri Payet and Bordeaux midfielder Alou Diarra.

Along with Liverpool, Hodgson's old club Inter Milan are also keen on Payet.
