Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez was delighted with the performances of Nabil El Zhar and Jack Hobbs in last week's Carling Cup victory over Cardiff City.

He told liverpoolfc.tv: "I think it was good that they got the experience. To see Jack playing alongside Carra was fantastic for him, and also for Nabil who scored a great goal. I think that they showed the quality they have and now we need to see if they can progress to the level of the other senior players."
