Liverpool boss Benitez backs youngsters to fill Keane void

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez says his young players can step up following the sale of Robbie Keane back to Tottenham.

Asked if they will be caught short, Benitez told liverpoolfc.tv: "I don't think so, because we have Fernando Torres.

"People have been saying, 'Torres has been injured', but we also have Dirk Kuyt, Ryan Babel, David Ngog in the squad.

"And if we need more options then we also have Krisztian Nemeth, who has been doing very well in the reserve team, and Daniel Pacheco has been playing well too.

"We could also play with Steven Gerrard, Yossi Benayoun or Nabil El Zhar as a second striker, so we have enough quality in the squad. I think we can manage."
