Liverpool ace Fernando Torres admits he's been surprised by the aggression of Premiership defences.

Torres told So Foot: "At first, I thought English defences were very weak, but I quickly realised they don't offer you any gift once you're on the pitch.

"It's even harder than in Spain!

"Defenders are tall, strong and fighters and the referees only give you a foul once you are bleeding.

"At the same time it's good because you have to have the same athletic level as them, not ask yourself any question and go for it.

"If not, they eat you!"
