Liverpool ace Roberto Firmino and Ronaldo are at the centre of a World Cup row amongst Brazilian fans.
Firmino has so far been reduced to a bit-part role in Russia, with coach Tite preferring Manchester City's Gabriel Jesus, but Firmino needed just two minutes to make his mark in their World Cup win over Mexico.
Ronaldo, who is involved in the sports marketing company that manages Gabriel, was dismissive of the Reds' No.9.
Speaking in his role as co-commentator for Globo, Ronaldo is quoted as saying: "The game was almost decided [when Firmino came on].
"And he was very lucky by following up Neymar. But of course he has a lot of talent."
The Liverpool Echo reports Ronaldo's comments angered a lot of spectators in his homeland, according to a report in Esporte , with columnist Mauricio Stycer labelling the 2002 World Cup winner's dual role as a representative of Jesus and co-commentator as a conflict of interest.
