Italy coach Marcello Lippi admits he's disappointed that AC Milan defender Alessandro Nesta is unwilling to end his international exile.

Lippi revealed yesterday that the Milan centre-back had given him a strong signal that he would not return to play for the Azzurri.

The Italy boss said: "His decision not to return has disappointed me a lot. But I still hold out hope."
