Lindelof reveals ambitions beyond Man Utd

Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof has spoken about his long-term future.

The Swedish centre half is a squad player at the Old Trafford club, playing when other defenders are not fully fit.

Lindelof has been at United since 2017, when he arrived from Benfica under Jose Mourinho.

When asked by Fotbollskanalen if he would want to play for his hometown club Vasteras in the future, he stated: "I hope they are ready to take the step. Vasteras as a city I think needs to have a club in the highest league. It was about time.

"I hope that the people on the board and around have a handle on the situation so that they can establish themselves in the Allsvenskan. I have never played in the Allsvenskan and it is clear that it would have been fun to come home and play for a year in the Allsvenskan.

"We'll see how the body feels in a few years because I feel that I don't want to come home and be half injured and not be able to perform at a good level. Getting to come home and play with VSK would be a lot of fun. It's my hometown. Should it happen that I come home, it is definitely at the top of the list."
