Aston Villa's Aussie midfielder Chris Herd has joined Lincoln City on-loan. Herd, a member of Australia's recent U20 World Cup campaign, joins Villa teammates Eric Lichaj and Nathan Baker at Lincoln.

Although the 20-year-old is still waiting to make his first team bow in claret and blue, the central star has been a regular in their reserves since arriving from Bayswater City in February 2005.

His loan will run until January 2, 2010.
