Lifelong Liverpool fan Coady wants Anfield win with Wolves

Ex-Liverpool man Conor Coady wants his current side Wolverhampton Wanderers to beat his boyhood club at Anfield.

Wolverhampton Wanderers travel to Anfield to square off against Liverpool in a 4th Round FA cup encounter and it goes without saying that Wolves head into the clash as underdogs.

“I have always wanted to go back to Liverpool one day and play against them for this football club," Coady told Wolves' official website.

“It is going be a special day for me and I will have a lot of people I know watching. Liverpool has been a big part of my life for me and my family. I grew up supporting the club, even though I'm a bit of a Wolves fan now as well!

“My Dad is a Liverpool fan, my brother, and many more in my family. We're all Red in the family, apart from one Blue, my Uncle John. And he comes to all my games to be fair!

“My Dad took me to a lot of games when I was younger and then I made it into the Academy and I played there all the way through from the age of six. One of my earliest memories was actually in the FA Cup. I went with my Dad to Old Trafford and we got beat 2-1 by Man United.

Michael Owen scored first at the Stretford Road and we lost it late on but it was a great occasion going to an away game. Growing up I'd go and watch on the Kop at Anfield. It was about watching the likes of Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher when I was growing up and learning from players like that.

“I've always loved football and Liverpool has been a part of my life. My little boy is growing up now and hopefully he will like football as well. I will always follow Liverpool and I will always support Liverpool, apart from when I am playing them which is this weekend! I want to go there and win.

“It is about going there on Saturday and hopefully playing well and trying to get a result for Wolves. I want to be involved and I want to play and enjoy it, but more than anything I want us to win. We want to play as we have been doing recently and then see if we can get a result."
