Levy: Spurs not too big to go down

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy admits they're not "too big" to go down after explaining why Martin Jol was dismissed earlier this season.

He said: "When you are running a club of this size with our cost base, you can't afford to take the risk that you may end up in a very, very bad situation.

"No club is too big to be relegated, and we reached a stage where we weren't winning at all. You could look on the players, and there was a point where he had lost the confidence of the players. That sometimes happens in football - you go on a losing streak and there's a point of no return. If you get yourself into a situation where you're just not getting the points, in the end it does cause problems.

"I want to welcome Martin Jol back to this club one day. It's a very friendly relationship and I just want to draw a line under the whole thing."
