Levante defender David Navarro called Cristiano Ronaldo yesterday after his clash with the Real Madrid star on Sunday.

A stray elbow from Navarro forced Ronaldo out of the game with concerns for his sight.

"It was an unlucky move, at no time did I want to hurt Cristiano Ronaldo. These things happen in games, and I regret having caused an injury, but again it was totally unintentional," said Navarro.

"I called Ronaldo to wish him a speedy recovery."
