Joleon Lescott believes Manchester City, with the goal scoring prowess of Edin Dzeko, can seriously challenge for the Premiership title. Roberto Mancini's side have won their opening three league games and Dzeko has weighed in with six goals after a disappointing introduction following his £27million January move from Wolfsburg.
Lescott said: "To win the league, that has to be the aim. We feel we can win every game that we play.
"That's not going to happen but we feel, if we can win the majority of games, then we'll do well come the end of the season.
"It's only the early part of the season. We know we've still got a long way to go. There will be games we don't play as well, and we will lose games, but we've got a fantastic squad."
Lescott added: "What Edin is doing now is probably no surprise to Roberto, as it isn't to us.
"Edin wasn't playing as much as he would have liked last season and the focus was on Carlos Tevez, and rightly so.
"But he's come back this pre-season and he just believes in his ability now. He can be one of the best strikers and top scorers in England this season."
