Manchester City defender Joleon Lescott is happy to have silenced their recent critics.
City put their recent stutter behind them with a gritty 1-0 win over North West rivals Wigan at the DW Stadium on Monday.
And Lescott revealed he and his City pals had been shocked and amused by the number of people predicting they were about to blow it.
The former Everton defender told The Sun:
"None of the boys even thought about us cracking up or that something was going wrong.
"All of a sudden it's being said in papers or on TV that things are going wrong. We were like 'wow, we must have arrived if people want us to fail'. Obviously, you don't win every game.
"People have been saying 'they're cracking, they're feeling the pressure, they're not going to win the league'.
"We were thinking 'hold on a minute, we've only lost two cup games'.""It's been funny to listen to and watch. It was crazy.
