Leicester U23 boss Ben Petty says his squad are ready to defend their Hong Kong Citi Soccer Sevens crown.

The hectic seven-a-side contest takes place in the sweltering heat of China's southern province.

The holders will face fellow Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion, Red Dragons and Singapore Cricket Club in the group stage.

Petty told the club's website: "The mood in the camp is fantastic. I think the lads are really looking forward to it.

"Credit to them, since we left on Tuesday, their attitude and their application – like it has been all season, has been tremendous – you can see by the intensity that they trained at this morning that they're really focused and they're up for this."
