Leicester striker Vardy: I'm fluffing too many chances

Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy says he should have more goals at this stage of the season.

Vardy can be his own harshest critic and he surprisingly admonished himself for "fluffing" chances against Aston Villa, despite scoring twice.

His double at Villa Park means Vardy has now been on the scoresheet for eight consecutive Premier League matches, three shy of the record he set in 2015.

He remains confident that he will keep scoring, even if he does mess up the occasional opportunity.

“I'm confident that I'm going to get a chance and that I'm going to put that chance away," he said after Sunday's win.

“[At Villa], it's taken a few efforts. I fluffed a couple. I had one before the first goal itself and then I missed another one straight after. It's all about persisting, to carry on doing what we're doing, and to keep creating the chances to get some in the back of the net."
